Are you keeping hydrated during summer?
Are you keeping hydrated during summer?
Our body is made up of 60% water so we need to ensure that we are well hydrated every day. In the warmer months particularly, we lose more fluids through sweat as our body works hard to regulate our core temperature and cool itself. Fluids that we lose need to be replaced to ensure our body maintains optimal functioning. The amount of water each person needs will depend on body size, metabolism, the weather, food we eat and physical activity but as a guide women should drink between 2 – 2.5 litres and men between 2.2 – 2.6 litres. Are you drinking enough?
